About Us:
Manor Park Strings (MPS), a newly formed and developing multigenerational string group is pleased to partner with MPCC.

The MPS aims to:
  • Play music together
  • Develop musical skills
  • Socialize and have fun
Long term goals include the development of the program into an amateur chamber ensemble that fosters educational outreach and community involvement.

To achieve these goals, MPS meets bi-weekly at the Manor Park Community Centre on Sundays from 6:15-8:15 p.m. Approximately every second week, a music specialist will be present to direct a rehearsal, presenting new material and assisting the group in working repertoire up to performance standard.

We welcome violin, viola, cello, and bass players at an approximate minimum level of RCM grade 5 or Suzuki book 4. There is no audition process; anyone interested in joining is encouraged to contact the group co-ordinator for further information.

Participants will need to bring:
  • Their own instruments
  • A music stand
  • Music scores which can be printed off the website once the member has signed up

Information:
  • About the program, visit Teens and Adults on the MPCC website.
  • For fees and registration, please contact MPCC

MPS is extremely fortunate and delighted to have violinist, teacher and chamber orchestra conductor Brigitte Amyot as our rehersal leader again this year. For more information about Brigitte, check out her bio here.

First rehearsal for winter/spring session is Jan 12, from 6.15-8.15 p.m.
